The difference between stocks, forex, gold and crypto. Learn the symbols too.
Crypto: digital assets
Crypto such as Bitcoin and Ether are digital assets. Most crypto markets run 24/7, although an exchange can also stop its service. Along with price risk, there are risks from wallets, hacking, scams and platform failure.
When you see BTC/USD on a chart, it means the price of Bitcoin in USD. But is the asset in your own wallet or on a platform? This difference changes your risk of access and custody.
RememberThe NRB has said that cryptocurrency trading is prohibited in Nepal. This is here to help you learn, not to invite you to trade.
